Lusitania Ships Decanter on tray (d13)

description

A Traditional Ship’s Decanter with a wide base curving into a long narrow flute. 29cm tall. Heavy flat cut ball stopper. Sold with wooden base that has a panel for engraving.

Ship’s decanters were designed with an extra wide base to give added stability when the ship was riding the waves at sea and antique versions are widely prized today for their elegant designs and use of fine cut glass. A stylish presentation piece or gift to grace the home of an discerning drinker.

Cut in the traditional Blackrock pattern, our Lusitania Ship’s Decanter was inspired by designs that would have been seen on  transatlantic liners over 100 years ago. The Cunard Line’s RMS Luisitania sank off the coast of Cork on May 7, 1915, after being torpedoed by a German submarine.
